1. Introduction
1.1 How ParkApp works
What is ParkApp?
ParkApp is a system that lets you rent out even a single parking space with almost no investment. No long-term commitments, no subscriptions, no fixed costs. ParkApp also handles the management of private, company and organisation car parks (a homeowners association, for instance), and in particular the automated collection of parking charges.
How does ParkApp work?
ParkApp acts as a platform between the owner of a parking space and the driver. Its core functions are renting out parking spaces and collecting payments electronically. Beyond that, the system handles availability and deals with cases of unpaid parking.
Who can use ParkApp?
ParkApp can be used by:
- private individuals who own parking spaces,
- companies,
- organisations (homeowners associations, housing co-operatives, institutions),
- drivers looking for somewhere to park.
1.2 Other
Does ParkApp guarantee that a parking space is available?
No. ParkApp does not guarantee that a parking space will be available, which follows from the communal nature of the system. Although we make every effort to see that a rented space is free (that is what the additional charges are for), we cannot guarantee it. Most car parks have no mechanical barrier to entry, so in theory anyone can park unlawfully in the space you have just rented.
What is ParkApp's role in the parking process?
ParkApp acts as an intermediary between the owner of a parking space and the driver. Responsibility for configuring the car park rests with the owner.
2. For drivers
2.1 Parking
How do I start parking with ParkApp?
You can start parking through the website or by scanning the QR code at the car park. You do not need to install an app on your phone.
Can I park for several days?
Yes. Parking can start at any moment and run for many days or weeks.
How is the parking charge calculated?
The basic model is an hourly rate. The charge is calculated for every hour of parking started. The car park’s owner may also offer promotional packages (overnight, daytime or weekend, for instance).
What are promotional packages and how do they work?
Promotional packages are an alternative to the hourly rate. They cover a set period of time (a night, a day or a weekend, for instance) for a fixed price. Packages are configured by the car park’s owner — they are not available at every car park.
What kinds of packages are available?
Depending on how the car park is configured, these may be available:
- an overnight package (from the evening until the morning, for instance),
- a daytime package (from 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00 until the end of the working day, for instance),
- a weekend package (from Friday evening until Monday morning, for instance),
- packages counted from the moment of booking: 24h, 7 days, 14 days, 28 days.
Which packages are available is up to the car park’s owner.
Will the system automatically pick the cheapest option?
Yes. The system always picks the cheapest combination of hourly rates and packages automatically — even where a package covers a longer period than you actually park for.
Can I use a package if I arrive part-way through it?
Yes. A package can be applied even where parking starts part-way through it, as long as that is the cheapest option.
2.2 Payments
What payment methods are available?
The payment methods available are:
- BLIK (code and recurring payments),
- fast online transfers (pay-by-link) — supported banks include mBank, PKO BP, Bank Pekao, Santander, ING, BNP Paribas, Millennium, Alior Bank, Inteligo, Credit Agricole, Citi Handlowy, VeloBank, Bank Pocztowy, Nest Bank, BOŚ and the co-operative banks (BPS and SGB),
- payment cards (Visa, Mastercard),
- Google Pay,
- Apple Pay.
When do I have to pay for parking?
Payment is made as part of starting the parking — before the parking is registered in the system.
How is parking time rounded?
Under the hourly model, the charge is calculated for every hour of parking started.
2.3 Invoices
Can I get an invoice for parking?
Yes. An invoice can be issued for every parking — separately for each transaction.
When do I have to give my invoice details?
Invoice details must be given before parking starts.
Can I have several sets of invoicing details?
Yes. One user can keep and use several sets of invoicing details.
Can I get a single monthly invoice?
This is not available yet — invoices are issued separately for each parking. We plan to offer consolidated monthly invoices shortly.
2.4 Unpaid parking and the charge for use without a contract
What happens if I do not start the parking in the system?
A charge for using the parking space without a contract will be applied. The basic amount of the charge is 600 zł.
What happens if I overstay the parking time I paid for?
A charge for using the parking space without a contract will be applied. The basic amount of the charge is 600 zł.
How much is the charge for use without a contract?
The basic charge is 600 zł. It may be reduced to:
- 150 zł — for prompt payment within 3 days, where the driver’s details did not have to be traced,
- 330 zł — for payment within 7 days of receiving notice by post (at most 23 days from the date it was sent).
How can I reduce the charge to 150 zł?
The charge is 150 zł where both of these conditions are met together:
- payment was made on the basis of the notice left on the vehicle’s windscreen or an email message (without the driver’s details having to be traced),
- payment was made within 3 days of the event.
How can I reduce the charge to 330 zł?
The charge is 330 zł where all of these conditions are met together:
- the charge was not paid within 3 days of the event,
- the driver’s details had to be traced,
- payment was made within 7 days of receiving notice by post, and no later than 23 days from the date that notice was sent.
By when do I have to pay the charge?
The payment term is 14 days. Paying sooner (within 3 days, or within 7 days of the postal notice) may reduce the charge.
How will I learn that a charge has been applied?
Notice that a charge has been applied may be given:
- by a notice left under the vehicle’s windscreen wiper,
- electronically (by email),
- by post.
Is the charge for use without a contract a parking charge?
No. The charge for use without a contract is not a parking charge. It arises from using a space without entering into a parking contract, or from overstaying the time paid for.
What is the 150 zł charge used for?
The minimum charge of 150 zł is made up of:
- 100 zł — compensation for the person who reported it (whoever’s space was taken),
- 25 zł — compensation for the car park’s owner,
- 25 zł — ParkApp’s fee for handling the process.
Where someone parking without a contract pays the minimum charge (the discount for prompt payment), ParkApp takes only 25 zł of that amount in commission. The remainder (125 zł) is divided between the owner of the space and the person who reported it.
3. For owners
3.1 General questions
Who can offer parking spaces on ParkApp?
Parking spaces may be offered by anyone with the right to dispose of a parking space: private individuals, companies and organisations.
What can I do as the owner of a parking space?
As an owner you can:
- add and configure parking spaces,
- set availability and rates,
- decide when spaces are offered,
- deal with complaints.
Can I set my own parking rates?
Yes. The owner sets the parking rates for their own space themselves.
Can I limit my space's availability to certain hours or days?
Yes. You can set the days it is offered, the hours, the periods (holidays or weekends, for instance) and how many spaces are made available.
Can I offer my space only while I am at work?
Yes. You can configure your space’s availability so that it is offered only during hours you choose — while you are at work, for instance.
Can I offer my space only while I am away on holiday?
Yes. You can offer your space only during periods you choose — while you are away on holiday, for instance.
What happens if someone parks in my space without paying?
A charge for using the parking space without a contract will be applied. As the owner of the space you receive a share of that charge as compensation.
How much of the charge for use without a contract do I receive?
Out of the minimum charge of 150 zł you receive 25 zł as compensation for the use of your space without a contract. On top of that, whoever reported it (if that is you) receives 100 zł. ParkApp takes only 25 zł of the amount in commission — the remainder (125 zł) is divided between the owner of the space and the person who reported it.
3.2 Homeowners associations
Can a homeowners association use ParkApp?
Yes. ParkApp supports homeowners associations as multi-level organisations, allowing both central management and management of individual spaces by residents.
How does the management model for homeowners associations work?
The model has two levels:
- the association level — managing the shared car parks, imposing general rules, and setting different price lists for members and outsiders,
- the individual level — managing an allocated space independently, with its own price lists and availability.
Can a resident manage their own space themselves?
Yes. A resident can manage the space allocated to them themselves, and set their own price lists and availability. They can also let members of their family use the parking free of charge, and manage their own users (giving their tenants access to the car park, for instance).
Can different price lists be set for association members and outsiders?
Yes. The association can set different price lists for its members and for outsiders.
Can a resident offer their space only to other association members?
Yes. A resident can configure their space’s availability so that it is offered only to other members of the association.
3.3 Companies and organisations
Can a company offer its car park overnight to people living nearby?
Yes. A company can configure its car park’s availability so that it is available only overnight, outside the company’s operating hours.
Can a company offer its car park only outside working hours?
Yes. A company can restrict its car park’s availability to the hours outside the office’s working day.
Can I offer only part of the car park?
Yes. The car park’s owner may offer 90% of the spaces, for instance, keeping the rest solely for their own users. That decision is an organisational one and depends on the configuration.
How does the management model for office buildings with several tenants work?
The model has two levels:
- the building owner’s level — managing the shared car parks, and setting the rules and how much freedom tenants have,
- the tenants’ level — managing an allocated pool of spaces, with their own price lists and times, within the owner’s rules.
Can a tenant manage the spaces allocated to them themselves?
Yes. A tenant can manage the pool of spaces allocated to them, and set their own price lists and availability within the rules the building’s owner has set.
3.4 Settlement and payments
How will I receive the money for parking in my space?
ParkApp pays out by bank transfer to the owner’s verified bank account held in the system. Payments are made by the 14th day of the following month at the latest, and cover the invoices and bills delivered to ParkApp by the 10th day of that month. Payment follows verification of the invoice or bill issued on the basis of the monthly statement of transactions.
How much is ParkApp's commission?
The commission is 18.45% gross for consumers, that is 15% net on the net amount earned from parking plus the VAT due. The commission covers the cost of running the system and the charges for electronic payments. Using ParkApp requires no subscription fees.
How much does it cost to start a car park on ParkApp?
Starting a car park is free. ParkApp charges nothing at all for setting one up.
What do I have to do to start a car park?
To start a car park you have to:
- put up at least one information board carrying a QR code, the payment details and a link to the terms and the price list,
- send us photographs of the parking spaces with the board in place,
- submit the car park as ready for activation checks — ParkApp will review the submission and activate the car park.
You can download the board’s artwork from the ParkApp application and have it printed anywhere you like, or order it from the ParkApp shop (from a few dozen złoty including delivery).
Will I receive a statement of the transactions at my car park?
Yes. Once the month is over, ParkApp prepares a detailed statement of every transaction carried out at your car park. The statement sets out the calculation of income and commission, and is anonymised — the details of the people parking and their full registration numbers are not disclosed.
4. Other questions
4.1 System requirements
Do I have to install an app to park?
No. You do not need to install an app on your phone. You can start parking through a web browser — on the ParkApp website, or by scanning the QR code at the car park.
Can I start parking without registering?
Yes. Registering an account is not required — you can park as a GUEST. All you give when parking is the vehicle’s registration number; an email address is not necessary.
4.2 Terms
Where do I find the ParkApp terms?
All the current terms are available at: Terms
4.3 Reports and complaints
How do I make a complaint?
You can submit a complaint about parking directly from the ParkApp system (the web application), against the particular parking it concerns. We recommend attaching photographs with legible registration numbers (where relevant) and a general view of the situation — it makes the complaint easier to deal with.
Who deals with complaints?
It depends on the kind of complaint:
- Straightforward complaints (someone took the space you had paid for, for instance) — dealt with by ParkApp’s operators; a refund usually follows within a few working hours.
- Complex complaints (an application to cancel a charge for parking without a contract, for instance) — submitted through ParkApp, but decided by the owner of the parking space.
4.4 Managing a booking
Can I cancel a parking booking?
The system does not provide for a driver to cancel a parking service once bought. You can end the parking and free up the space. A cancellation feature will be introduced in future for bookings with a deferred start and for long-term bookings.
Can I change a parking booking?
A booking can only be changed by using the extend or the end function. The system does not currently support any other way of changing a booking.
How do I extend a booking?
This is not available yet. We plan to offer booking extensions shortly — it will be done from the web application by clicking the “Extend” button, choosing how long to extend for, and then confirming and paying.
Can I pay for a long-term booking month by month?
This is not available at present. Automatic renewal of long-term bookings (monthly ones, for instance) is planned for the future.
Can I drive in and out of the car park repeatedly while my booking runs?
Yes. Buying a booking lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like for as long as it runs. The space stays reserved for you for the whole period you have paid for — you do not have to leave the vehicle in the car park without a break. This applies to every kind of booking: one-off, weekend, package and any other.
4.5 Contact and data protection
How do I contact the car park's owner?
For data protection reasons the car park’s owner receives no information about you, and you receive none about the owner. You can send a report through the ParkApp application, and once an operator has verified it, it will be passed on to the owner. The report is anonymised unless you expressly ask for your contact details to be given.
4.6 For owners — managing bookings
As an owner, can I cancel a booking?
At present a booking that has already started cannot be cancelled by the owner. A cancellation feature for future bookings that have not yet started is planned.
When will I receive payment for parking?
Payments are made by the 14th day of the following month at the latest, and cover the invoices and bills delivered to ParkApp by the 10th day of that month. There is currently one payment run a month. An additional payment run towards the end of the month is planned for the future.
4.7 General information
What is shared parking?
Shared parking is the idea of letting the owners of parking spaces offer them for rent for a set period. With ParkApp you can rent out your space easily, setting the hours it is available and the rates, or park your own car quickly and conveniently.
Does ParkApp buy or sell parking spaces?
No. ParkApp neither buys nor sells parking spaces. The platform exists so owners can rent their parking spaces out, and so drivers can pay for parking.
What do I get if I do not give any invoice details?
If you do not set up invoice details, you will receive a receipt or a debit note — depending on the particular car park’s set-up and the tax status of the parking space’s owner.
4.8 Advanced packages (planned)
What are advanced packages?
Advanced packages are a planned feature that will allow parking spaces to be booked at particular times of the day or week. Unlike one-off packages, advanced packages cover longer periods and automatically count only those days or nights that match the type of package chosen. The start and end times of packages are set by the car park’s owner. Buying a package lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like while the booking runs.
What kinds of advanced packages will be available?
Four kinds of package are planned:
- The daytime package — parking during the day on working days (Mon–Fri),
- The overnight package — parking overnight on working days (Mon–Fri),
- The weekend package — parking for the whole weekend (Fri evening – Mon morning),
- The overnight package with weekends — weeknights and whole weekends combined.
Every package lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like while the booking runs.
Who is the daytime package for?
The daytime package is for people who park during the day — while at work, for instance. It runs from the morning to the afternoon, Monday to Friday. The variants available are 7 days (5 days of parking), 14 days (10 days of parking) and 28 days (20 days of parking).
Example: the car park’s owner sets the daytime package to run from 8:00 to 16:00. A driver buys the 28-day package and can park during those hours for 20 working days, driving in and out of the car park as often as they like.
Who is the overnight package for?
The overnight package is for people who park outside their home at night — after getting back from work, for instance. It runs from the evening to the morning, Monday to Friday. The variants available are 7 days (5 nights of parking), 14 days (10 nights of parking) and 28 days (20 nights of parking). The package lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like while the booking runs.
What does the weekend package involve?
The weekend package is for people who park for the whole weekend. It runs from Friday evening to Monday morning. The variants available are 14 days (2 weekends) and 28 days (4 weekends). The package lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like while the booking runs.
What is the overnight package with weekends?
The overnight package with weekends combines the overnight package and the weekend package. It is for people who park regularly in the evenings and at weekends. It runs on the nights from Monday to Friday and across whole weekends. The variants available are 7, 14 and 28 days. The package lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like while the booking runs.
Who sets the start and end times of the packages?
The start and end times of the packages are set by the car park’s owner. That way packages can be fitted to how a particular car park works and to what local users need.
Can I drive in and out of the car park repeatedly on a package?
Yes. Buying an advanced package lets you drive in and out of the car park as often as you like while the booking runs. You do not have to leave the vehicle in the car park for the whole period — you are free to use the space during the hours the package covers. This applies to every booking on ParkApp, not only to advanced packages.
Are advanced packages available yet?
Advanced packages are planned for the future and are not yet available in the ParkApp system.
